The Roma midfielder provoked significant unrest by engaging in aggressive behaviour towards Spanish players, most notably kicking Eric Garcia to the ground and appearing to place a hand around his throat during a heated confrontation. Following this, he also shoved Gavi to the floor before officials could intervene.
