Police are investigating the murder of former MP Ann Widdecombe, found with serious injuries at her home in Devon on Thursday morning, reports BritPanorama.

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched a murder investigation and are currently searching for a “white male” suspect connected to the case. The discovery of Widdecombe’s body led to significant public concern and swift action from law enforcement.

Her management confirmed the death on Friday morning, sparking widespread media coverage. A police press conference is scheduled for later today, where further details of the ongoing investigation are anticipated.

Detective Chief Inspector Ilona Rosson has appealed for witnesses to come forward, indicating that the investigation is progressing rapidly. “We are deploying all of the necessary resources to find out exactly what has happened and to locate the person responsible who we believe to be a white male,” she stated.

Further insights into the investigation are expected to be provided by Assistant Chief Constable Matt Longman at the afternoon press conference in Exeter, where he will address questions from journalists.
