Laura Woods stuns in darts match with treble 20

Laura Woods astonished viewers this evening after hitting a treble 20 to secure victory in an impromptu darts match alongside rising star Luke Littler, reports BritPanorama.

The ITV presenter partnered with reigning world champion Littler to challenge Luke Humphries and pundit Duncan Ferguson during World Cup coverage from New York. The spontaneous match emerged as Humphries and Littler visited the set for a pre-match discussion ahead of the football action.

“I can’t believe that!” Woods exclaimed after her remarkable shot, which came amid excitement in the studio. The contest saw each player throw six darts in a highest-score format, with Littler and Humphries expectedly achieving significant scores.

Ferguson also managed to land a treble 20, demonstrating his skills beyond the football pitch. As the game reached a tense conclusion, Woods found herself needing 42 points with one dart left after a shaky start. However, she rallied and executed the outstanding treble 20, leading to cheers in the studio, despite it technically causing a bust.

Littler and Humphries had arrived in New York ahead of the US Darts Masters, starting Thursday, where they will compete against top PDC players like Gian van Veen, Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting, and Josh Rock.

The two darts stars, having previously faced each other in thrilling encounters, recently joined forces as Team England at the World Cup of Darts, where they triumphed over the formidable Dutch pairing of Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen. Amid the light-hearted banter, Littler reflected on missing parts of England’s goalless draw with Ghana due to travel arrangements, prompting Woods to quip, “You didn’t miss much.”

This impromptu showcase of talent highlights not just the unpredictability of darts but how these moments can bridge the gap between sports, entertainment, and commentary. In an age where competition often feels more serious than ever, the sheer joy observed in the studio reminds us all of the fun at the heart of sport.
