Josh Kroenke arrives in London ahead of League Cup Final

Josh Kroenke has arrived in the capital ahead of Arsenal’s League Cup Final clash with Manchester City this Sunday, reports BritPanorama.

The American executive’s visit involves more than just attending the Wembley finale; he is expected to have meetings with manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta to discuss the club’s strategy for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners are looking to secure their first League Cup victory since 1993, and Kroenke will be in the stands to witness the match.

In addition to outlining transfer plans, Kroenke’s discussions may include the future of his father, Stan, Arsenal’s majority owner, who might also travel to England for the final. Reports suggest the club has identified full-back, central midfield, and left flank as positions requiring reinforcement.

Links to players from Newcastle United, including Tino Livramento, Sandro Tonali, and Anthony Gordon, are emerging as potential solutions to these needs. Furthermore, Julian Alvarez is also being considered, given his previous Premier League experience with Manchester City, which may prove valuable for Arsenal.

The club had invested around £250 million last summer but now recognizes the necessity of generating funds through player sales. Several first-team players, such as Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and others, could be made available to enhance the transfer budget.

Arteta’s contract also looms large as an issue during this London visit, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season. Negotiations could become urgent as the manager’s current terms include a £15 million annual salary, and success this season may demand a lucrative contract renewal.

The convergence of these factors, from potential transfers to managerial stability, makes Kroenke’s visit to London pivotal, reflecting the culmination of efforts for Arsenal to redefine their status within English football.
