Russian military strikes on the Ukrainian cities of Sumy and Odesa killed at least six civilians and wounded 22 others, Ukrainian authorities reported.
Civilians killed in Sumy and Odesa
In Sumy, four people were killed, including a 13-year-old girl who was waiting at a public transport stop, according to local officials. The number of wounded in the city rose to 17 after the Russian shelling. In Odesa, a missile attack killed two people and brought the number of injured to five.
Ukrainian officials urge air defense reinforcement
The attacks prompted renewed calls from Ukrainian officials for accelerated delivery of air defense systems and interceptor missiles. Each downed drone and intercepted missile, officials said, directly saves civilian lives across cities including Sumy and Odesa. They urged partner nations to speed up deliveries to protect Ukrainian airspace.
