Tennis legend Venus Williams has tied the knot with Italian actor Andrea Preti for a second time, following their initial wedding in Italy back in September, reports BritPanorama.
The couple celebrated their union over six days in Palm Beach, Florida, surrounded by close friends and family. Williams described the extended festivities as “the happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day” of her life.
Preti shared his emotions during the event with Vogue, expressing that seeing Venus was like witnessing “a goddess.” He added that he was moved to tears during the occasion.
The couple exchanged vows in both English and Italian before continuing their celebration late into Saturday morning. Notably, Serena Williams gifted the newlyweds with a yacht, which served as a floating venue for some wedding guests.
Venus reminisced about the gift, stating, “Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything.” This special vessel hosted between ten and twelve of their closest family members, providing an intimate setting for gatherings and celebrations.
Due to administrative complications with their Italian nuptials, where official paperwork can take up to eight months, the couple opted for a second ceremony in Florida to avoid these delays. Despite the change in location, Preti ensured that his Italian family could also participate in the celebrations, with several relatives making the journey across the Atlantic.
Leading up to the ceremony, guests enjoyed a series of dinners and poolside gatherings. The festivities culminated in the couple reciting their vows, honouring their respective cultural backgrounds. Williams and Preti’s romance began in 2024 when they met by chance at a Milan fashion show, an event neither had planned to attend.
The tennis star shared the news of her wedding with fans via Instagram, posting photographs from the day. She joyfully remarked, “Guess what I did this weekend? Yes, that’s right! We got married! It was and still is a dream!”
