Michael Carrick addresses Lisandro Martinez’s post-match comments
Michael Carrick has stated that discussing Lisandro Martinez’s post-match interview is not a priority at the moment, with a crucial game approaching on Sunday, reports BritPanorama.
Carrick emphasized the need for Manchester United to move forward quickly after a disappointing match, acknowledging the disappointment shared among the players. “Straight after a game for me isn’t the time to talk about that interview because I haven’t seen it, so I can’t really comment on that,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of staying focused on their upcoming challenges, stating, “I think it’s important for us to move forward quickly, really. There is a big game on Sunday, and it’s really important that we move forward and we stay focused on that.”
Despite mounting pressure from inconsistent performances, Carrick defended his players’ attitude and dismissed suggestions that their recent results indicated deeper issues within the squad. “There’s disappointment within the group. I’m very disappointed in certain things, and the boys are as well,” he remarked, signaling a collective resolve to improve.
In the context of an ongoing struggle to secure positive results, Carrick’s remarks reflect a blend of concern and determination. As they prepare for the pivotal match ahead, the focus shifts inevitably towards performance and unity on the pitch, an ever-present reminder of the challenges faced when expectations run high.
