This pointed jibe suggested that Paul would likely spend much of the bout avoiding the two-time heavyweight champion rather than engaging in direct combat.
His prediction aligned with the fight’s progression, as the 28-year-old Paul frequently relied on the oversized 22x22ft ring to maintain distance, often dropping to his knees to sidestep Joshua’s powerful punches. Despite moments where Paul landed quick strikes that excited the crowd, he struggled to maintain his footing throughout the match.
