Joshua towers over Paul before December clash

The sheer physical mismatch between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul became strikingly apparent when the two fighters stood face-to-face in Miami today, reports BritPanorama.

The former unified heavyweight champion, standing at an imposing 6ft 6in, completely dwarfed his 6ft 1in opponent during their initial encounter ahead of their December 19 Netflix bout. The size disparity was so pronounced that onlookers couldn’t help but notice the almost comical difference between the two men.

Joshua appeared massive next to the YouTube star-turned-boxer, creating visuals that immediately sparked conversation among boxing fans regarding what this could mean for their upcoming fight at the Kaseya Center. The moment that truly captured the size difference came when Paul initially found himself staring directly at Joshua’s chest rather than his face.

Once Paul finally looked up, the two engaged in an intense stare-down, though it lacked the usual drama associated with Paul’s previous boxing events. Despite the relatively cordial atmosphere of the press conference, Joshua made his intentions clear by vowing to “break Paul’s face” in their upcoming bout.

Throughout the exchange, Joshua promised to introduce the social media personality to a “school of boxing that he hasn’t seen yet,” suggesting Paul would face a level of competition well beyond his previous experiences. The atmosphere remained surprisingly polite, which marked a notable departure from the YouTuber’s typically theatrical pre-fight build-ups, even as Joshua’s stark warning highlighted his serious intentions for fight night.

The bout will see Joshua restricted to a 245-pound weight limit, though he still looked enormous compared to Paul during their face-off. Paul, who typically fights at cruiserweight and weighed 227 pounds for his November clash with Mike Tyson, acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge ahead. He compared a potential victory to Buster Douglas’s legendary upset over Mike Tyson in February 1990, recognizing it would rank among boxing’s greatest shocks.

The size difference marks a stark reversal for Paul, who usually enjoys physical advantages over his opponents — a luxury he certainly won’t have when he steps into the ring with Joshua next month. As the anticipation builds, a lesson seems to linger: in boxing, size matters, but so do skill and strategy.
