Jake Paul suffers knockout loss but celebrates with extravagant hot dog
Jake Paul indulged in what has been called “the most expensive hot dog ever” at a private mansion celebration in Miami on Saturday, despite suffering a devastating knockout loss to Anthony Joshua just hours earlier, reports BritPanorama.
The 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer was forced to blend the lavish snack, which featured approximately $6,000 worth of caviar, because his jaw had been shattered during the bout. The two-time world heavyweight champion landed a decisive blow in the sixth round, bringing the contest at Miami’s Kaseya Center to an abrupt end.
The impact fractured Paul’s jaw in two places, necessitating immediate surgical intervention that included the extraction of several teeth. The powerful punch left Paul unable to consume solid food for at least a week.
After the fight, Paul bypassed the post-fight press conference entirely, opting to drive himself directly to the hospital for treatment. The bout, streamed globally on Netflix, was part of a £200 million event that later saw Paul sharing an image of himself aboard his private jet surrounded by piles of cash.
Artist Victoria Unikel, who attended the exclusive gathering with over 100 guests, described the atmosphere as “incredible” despite Paul’s evident discomfort. “Jake was really hurting, wincing and unable to speak too well,” she recalled, noting his swollen jaw and difficulty opening his mouth. Paul generously added caviar from a $64,000 tin to his hot dog, which he had to consume in a blended form due to his injuries.
“It’s got to be the most expensive hot dog ever but he had to put it through a MagicBullet blender because he couldn’t eat solids after his surgery,” Unikel added. Meanwhile, Paul’s mother, Pam Stepnick, was present at the event, signing copies of her book. Following the fight, Joshua encountered Paul’s parents, offering condolences for the outcome and reminding them, “It’s just a fight.”
Amidst the post-fight festivities, there were murmurs of a potential matchup between Joshua and Tyson Fury. Should negotiations progress smoothly, the two heavyweight champions could face off next year, further raising the stakes in the heavyweight division.
In the world of boxing, losses and victories are often intertwined with spectacle and celebration. Jake Paul’s foray into high-stakes events reflects not only the sport’s evolving nature but also the unpredictable dance between triumph and defeat, revealing the complex layers of fame and fortune in modern boxing.
