England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway faces potential delay due to Miami heat warning

Heat warning threatens England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway

England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway is at risk of delay due to a heat warning issued by the City of Miami, reports BritPanorama.

Southern Florida is experiencing a surge in temperatures, reaching 32C, and is not expected to cool down until at least 8pm. In light of these conditions, FifPro, the global representative for professional footballers, has advised that games should be postponed if local temperatures remain above 28C.

The City of Miami has communicated the risk to residents via social media, warning of potentially dangerous heat-related illnesses. Advisory messages included recommendations to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and limit outdoor activities, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

England’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, confirmed that all players are available for the game except for midfielder Jordan Henderson. This match will see the Three Lions back in their traditional all-white kit after a recent change imposed by FIFA due to kit clash rules.

England’s preferred kit, which consists of a white shirt, white shorts, and white socks, had to be modified in their previous match against Mexico, where navy shorts were worn instead. FIFA’s regulations require teams to have contrasting kits, and with Norway opting for red shirts with navy shorts, England can now return to their standard attire.

As the match approaches, the eyes of supporters and officials alike are on Miami, weighing the potential need for a delay against the importance of proceeding with this high-stakes fixture in the tournament.
