Olympic swimming star Adam Peaty is facing fresh turmoil behind the scenes of his glittering career as his mother, Caroline, has spoken of her “heartbreak” over a deepening family rift that has now involved police, an arrest and mounting tensions on both sides of the aisle ahead of his wedding next month, reports BritPanorama.

Shortly thereafter, Peaty’s elder brother James, 34, was arrested at his Staffordshire home on suspicion of harassment. He was later released on conditional bail while inquiries continue. Staffordshire Police confirmed, “We arrested a 34-year-old man on November 11, 2025, on suspicion of harassment. The man was released on conditional bail while our inquiries continue.”
As the situation unfolded, Caroline has lamented her feelings of isolation as her son prepares to marry into the famous Ramsay family, whose patriarch Gordon and wife Tana are expected to attend the ceremony at Bath Abbey alongside celebrity friends including Sir David and Victoria Beckham. Caroline, who was not invited to Holly’s hen party, has reportedly been told she will not attend the wedding, insisting she desires reconciliation.
Caroline described reaching “rock bottom” over the family strife and expressed concern that her son is being “pulled away” towards the Ramsays. Adam’s father, Mark, noted that the tensions between his sons have escalated, stating, “They’ve always been close but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make up… But it’s got out of hand.”
A source close to Adam and Holly suggested that the couple feels compelled to adopt a protective stance, indicating that Adam sees his mother as enabling his brother’s actions rather than helping him confront his issues. “Poor Caroline must feel utterly torn and it’s just very hard for everyone. Gordon has been incredibly supportive… he’s been through similar issues with his own brother,” the source added.
