Trump’s annual physical results show he remains fit to serve
The results of President Donald Trump’s annual physical have been released, confirming he is fit to serve as Commander in Chief, reports BritPanorama.
Ahead of his 80th birthday next week, Trump, the oldest person ever elected president, has been deemed to be in “excellent health” by his personal physician, U.S. Navy Captain Sean Barbabella. However, the details provided in the memo indicate some potential health concerns.
Specifically, the report highlights “soft tissue irritation” in the president’s hands attributed to frequent handshaking and minor swelling in his lower legs, although this condition has shown improvement from the previous year. Scarring from a prior gunshot injury sustained in a 2024 campaign rally in Pennsylvania was also noted.
In addition to taking aspirin, Trump is prescribed the cholesterol medications rosuvastatin and ezetimibe. Despite these minor ailments, Barbabella stated: “President Donald Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”
Following his physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday, the report indicated Trump’s weight at 238 pounds with a blood pressure reading of 105 over 71 and a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute. These figures reflect a slight increase from last year when he weighed 224 pounds with a blood pressure of 128 over 74.
The memo emphasized that Trump is “fully fit to carry out all duties,” including participation in high-level meetings and maintaining regular physical activity. Preventive care measures were also discussed, such as dietary guidance and recommendations for increased exercise and ongoing weight loss.
Overall, his lab results were reported to be “broadly normal,” with a cardiac age estimated at about 14 years younger than his actual age. Additionally, he achieved a score of 30 out of 20 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, indicating cognitive health within normal limits.
Despite the minor health issues, Trump has consistently projected confidence in his health assessments over the years, having previously stated that he “aced” the test. The physician’s overall report asserts that Trump’s physical condition remains robust, even as he continues to navigate the demands of his office.
The detailed memo’s implications offer insight into the ongoing dialogue surrounding the health and capabilities of political leaders as they represent their nations in complex global landscapes.
