Bellingham praises Kane after record-equaling performance

Jude Bellingham has hailed Harry Kane as “the greatest player that has ever played for England” after the captain matched Peter Shilton’s appearance record in a memorable Wembley win, reports BritPanorama.

Kane earned his 125th cap as England decisively beat the Czech Republic 3-0 in the Nations League on Tuesday. The striker celebrated the milestone with two goals and an assist, taking his England tally to 91.

He is set to move clear of Shilton as the men’s team’s most-capped player in November. Bellingham praised Kane’s hard work and noted that his achievements offer a valuable lesson to younger players.

“Nothing he ever does surprises me anymore, really. Such an amazing role model, such an amazing guy, and I am honoured to share the pitch with him,” Bellingham said. “Like I said before, everything he gets, he deserves. He works so hard for it, and he’s a very honest guy.”

Bellingham highlighted Kane’s historic accomplishment, stating, “I know he got two goals today, but the biggest thing is equalling Peter Shilton’s record. For me, he is the greatest player that has ever played for England, he is an amazing role model, a great human being and you learn from him every day.”

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive international camp, following his strong performance at the World Cup, and he emphasized the importance of learning from Kane’s example.

England’s attacking lineup looks increasingly promising, with players like Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon also featuring prominently. Morgan Rogers has joined the squad, providing manager Thomas Tuchel with multiple tactical options.

During the recent international window, England won three of their four matches, defeating the Czech Republic twice and beating Croatia, while their only defeat came against Spain, a narrow 3-2 loss.

The four-game camp drew criticism from some quarters, but Bellingham believes the extra time spent together has improved cohesion within the squad. “I think with the longer camp, we have a chance to gel and bond and spend more time with each other,” he remarked. “I think eventually it shows on the pitch.”

Ultimately, this series of matches has not only showcased Kane’s monumental talents but reminded fans of the leadership and spirit he brings to the team—a blend of skill and commitment that ensures he remains a pivotal force for England.
