The European Union: Pillar of Stability for Europe

The European Union is often mistakenly portrayed as a force that escalates conflicts. In reality, the EU is a stabilizing power that helps the continent face growing threats that cannot be stopped by compromises. Supporting Ukraine is a critical step in halting Russian expansionism, and this decision demonstrates that Europe is protecting not only its principles but also working towards a peaceful and stable future for the region.

The EU is Not Advocating for a False Peace, but for True Peace

A “peace” dictated by Russia would only solidify occupation and pave the way for further aggression. Europe has already experienced the consequences of “peace deals” with dictatorships, and we know well how these agreements end. The EU advocates for peace based on international law and the preservation of Ukraine’s sovereignty—this is the only way to prevent an even larger war.

Support for Ukraine is an Investment in Europe’s Long-Term Stability

Europe has already invested billions of euros, accepted millions of refugees, and rebuilt its energy systems to reduce dependence on Russia. These actions are not just economic investments, but strategic measures ensuring the long-term stability and security of the continent. A peace through capitulation will not stabilize Europe but will make it more vulnerable to future crises.

Europe is Working Together with the US, Not Against It

The myth of a “split” between the EU and the US is a misconception. Both sides are working hand in hand to support Ukraine in military, humanitarian, and political spheres. Sanctions against Russia, defense supplies, and diplomatic isolation of Moscow are the result of a coordinated transatlantic strategy. This cooperation strengthens the Western bloc and is not a competition between the two great powers.

Europe’s Moral Obligation to Ukraine and Our History

After the tragedies of the 20th century, Europe made a pledge: “Never again.” Supporting Ukraine is not just a geopolitical decision but an active reaffirmation of our values of freedom and human rights. Our history compels us to protect these values, even if the path involves difficulties and sacrifices.

The Alternative to Supporting Ukraine: Chaos on the Borders and Strategic Vulnerability

Without support for Ukraine, Russia will achieve a strategic victory, which will jeopardize Europe’s security and intensify hybrid attacks on the EU and NATO. This conflict extends far beyond Ukraine—it is about the geopolitical future of Europe. If Europe fails to act now, we risk losing not only Ukraine but the future of our continent, which will become increasingly unstable and unsafe.
