Paris Fury discusses Tyson Fury’s boxing ambitions

Paris Fury has disclosed that she never truly believed her husband Tyson Fury would walk away from boxing permanently, despite his repeated retirement declarations, reports BritPanorama.

The 36-year-old, who has seven children with the 37-year-old boxing champion, acknowledged that while she wanted him to focus on his well-being and their family, she could not stand in the way of his ambitions.

Speaking to the Press Association, she said: “I’m happy for him. It’s what he wanted, and I knew it’s what he wanted.” She added, “All this time, when he kept saying he was out the ring, ‘I’m out the ring, I’m not boxing, I’m not boxing’ I knew in the back of my mind that wouldn’t be true.”

Their eldest daughter, Venezuela, supported this view, stating: “I don’t think he ever retired.” Paris revealed she had tried to steer her husband towards other pursuits that might satisfy his competitive drive, suggesting, “Why don’t you train people as a boxer? Why don’t you get involved in something that you enjoy?” However, she conceded that the heavyweight champion simply has no other interests outside the ring.

“He doesn’t have any hobbies. And it’s hard to take away someone’s life’s passion, and I couldn’t be the one to do it,” she explained. “I said to him so many times like, ‘oh, I wish you’d stop boxing now, you’ve done everything you need to do. You don’t need to do it anymore.’ But he felt that itch, and he still wants to do it. So I’m not going to deny him that dream.”

Paris described her husband as having “a one-track mind” when it comes to boxing, making it impossible to find any suitable alternative. She also addressed her teenage daughter Venezuela’s engagement to Noah Price, which was made public last September. The mother of seven admitted experiencing mixed emotions about the news, confessing to some sadness at how rapidly events have unfolded.

“There’s a part of me that is a little bit sad that it’s all happened so soon, because I still feel like I’m so young, and I feel like my kids imagine my brain, they’re all babies and they’re all at home,” she shared. Nevertheless, she recognised that her 16-year-old is now a young woman capable of making her own decisions.

Paris reflected, “I think she’s so lucky. Like, you’ve met this person that you want to spend your life with. I did the same thing at 17. I do think it’s beautiful that she’s found what she wants.”

The family’s documentary series, At Home With The Furys, has proven beneficial for the Fury children, according to Mrs. Fury. She described the programme as a “good experience” that helped her children develop their social abilities while also creating opportunities for Venezuela’s work in social media and branding.

Despite receiving an “amazing” response from viewers, Paris maintained that fame has not changed the family’s outlook: “We don’t realise we are celebrities. It doesn’t click. Like, we just act totally normal. We live normal life. We aren’t really very flash.”

The couple, who have been married for nearly two decades, continue to balance their public profile with raising their seven children. Meanwhile, Fury will make his seismic return on Saturday against Arslanbek Makhmudov. How that bout plays out remains to be seen.

In the world of boxing, Tyson’s return promises to reignite the competitive spirit he embodies, a reminder of how fiercely ambition can outweigh even the most heartfelt pleas for rest.
