Tyson Fury relocates to the Isle of Man amidst safety concerns
Tyson Fury has revealed he relocated his family to the Isle of Man after fearing for their safety at his Morecambe home, reports BritPanorama.
Fury moved his wife Paris and their seven children from the Lancashire seaside town towards the end of last year following a series of unsettling encounters with disturbed individuals. He expressed particular concern for their security after persistent intrusions from unwanted visitors prompted a decision for a fresh start.
The incident that finally convinced Fury to leave occurred when a man climbed over his 40ft gates while the boxer was training at the gym. “When people know where you live, you can be targeted at any time, so now I have moved and my address is confidential,” he said.
The 37-year-old had lived in Morecambe for two decades after arriving for a Christmas training camp, and his family life there was featured prominently in two Netflix series. However, he described how heneeded to disconnect his gate intercom due to constant ringing, especially at weekends, from individuals seeking him out.
Fury noted the bizarre encounters extended beyond that single incident. One notable visitor arrived covered entirely in seashells, insisting he had been sent by God to speak with the boxer. “These people are innocent but when is it going to be one who isn’t innocent?” Fury questioned, highlighting the strain of his home environment.
Despite the upheaval of leaving Lancashire, Fury remarked that he bears no resentment about the move. He explained his choice to relocate to the Isle of Man, stating, “I looked at moving abroad, far away, but it turned out that the Isle of Man is the perfect place for me – English speaking, English pound notes.” The boxer is set to return to the ring tomorrow against Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking his fifth comeback and first UK bout since 2022.
Victory against the Canadian heavyweight could set the stage for a long-anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua. As Fury steps back into the spotlight, he reflects on the journey: “This is a circus. This is my dream job and I have been able to do my dream job. I dreamed as a child of being the heavyweight world champion and I have lived it. It’s absolutely fabulous to be back in boxing. The circus continues.”
