Eddie Hall and Tommy Fury face off in London ahead of June bout

Eddie Hall and Tommy Fury came face to face in London this afternoon, offering a striking preview of their June clash at Manchester’s AO Arena, reports BritPanorama.

The event showcased a significant weight disparity, with the two fighters expected to carry a combined difference of 140lb into the ring on 13 June. Fury indicated he anticipates weighing approximately 210lb for the contest, while Hall suggested he could trim down to around 330lb.

Despite their comparable heights, Hall’s muscular frame renders him nearly double Fury’s size. Hall enters the match as a notable underdog, having only boxed once previously—a decision defeat to fellow strongman Hafthor Bjornsson in Dubai back in 2022. The bout is set to serve as Misfits Boxing’s flagship event of the year.

In a candid moment during the press conference, the 38-year-old Hall acknowledged Fury’s advantages, saying, “Look, Tommy’s got all the experience here. He’s got the better IQ, he’s got the better footwork, he’s got the better speed, he’s got the better cardio, he’s got everything in terms of advantages.” However, Hall remains confident that his power will be the decisive factor, declaring, “No one’s hit as hard as me, I’m telling you right now.”

Fury, who boasts an unbeaten record in eleven professional bouts, downplayed the concerns of facing a larger opponent. The 26-year-old cited his upbringing with heavyweight brother Tyson Fury, a two-time world champion, as crucial training for this unique matchup. “I have grown up with heavyweights my entire life,” Fury explained. “Size makes no difference to me.”

The younger Fury asserted that his superior conditioning would ultimately prevail, adding, “Eddie’s got muscles all over his body, but you can’t put muscles on chins and that’s what I’m about to expose.” He also shared insights into his rigorous training, highlighting that he has been running half marathons, which he claims leaves him “supremely fit” with nine weeks until fight night.

John Fury’s absence from the event drew criticism from Hall, who branded him a “p—-” for failing to attend, suggesting a deeper animosity between Hall and John. Reports indicated John Fury was suffering from an illness, preventing his appearance at Glaziers Hall. Tommy Fury defended his father, promising that Hall would receive the confrontation he is seeking during the upcoming fight week in Manchester.

As anticipation builds for this unconventional contest, Hall seems to harbor a more intense rivalry with John Fury than with Tommy. The exhibition will comprise six two-minute rounds, with both competitors wearing 12oz gloves instead of the standard professional equipment. In the end, the contrast between size and skill will make this bout a fascinating spectacle, encapsulating the unpredictable nature of boxing.
