Raheem Sterling suffers second break-in
England footballer Raheem Sterling has become a victim of a second break-in, with masked men breaking into his house while the Chelsea forward and his family were inside, reports BritPanorama.
The incident occurred in Berkshire on Saturday, with reports indicating that the masked individuals attempted to enter the property around 6:30 PM. A spokesperson confirmed that Sterling and his loved ones were at home during the event.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the family is now understood to be safe. Sterling, 30, resides with his partner Paige Milian and their three children. Thames Valley Police are currently investigating the incident and have urged the public to provide any relevant information.
In a prior incident during the 2022 World Cup, Sterling was forced to withdraw from the England squad due to a break-in at his Surrey home. At that time, jewellery and watches were reported stolen, prompting Sterling to temporarily leave the team base in Qatar.
A police spokesperson emphasized the ongoing investigation: “Officers are conducting a thorough investigation and ask anyone with information, or if they saw anyone in the area acting suspiciously, to contact police.” The Football Association had previously stated that Sterling’s absence was due to a “family matter,” with then-manager Gareth Southgate highlighting the priority of family safety.
This recurring issue of home security has also affected other Premier League players. Jack Grealish recently experienced a significant break-in in December 2023, where thieves stole jewellery valued at £1 million from his Cheshire home. The increasing frequency of such incidents has raised concerns for players and their families, with some, like Everton’s Jake O’Brien, opting to enhance their home security measures.
As the investigation continues, this latest break-in serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by high-profile athletes, illustrating how personal safety concerns can intersect dramatically with professional life.
