Spanish motocross talent Enzo Badenas dies at 17

A promising Spanish motocross talent has died at the age of 17 during a private training session on Sunday, reports BritPanorama.

Enzo Badenas lost his life at the Red Sand Park circuit in Castellon, located in eastern Spain. The incident is reported to have occurred as Badenas was training ahead of the busy competition season.

Having established himself as a key figure within Spain’s national motocross squad, Badenas claimed the Spanish 85cc championship title in 2022. He was also competing in the EMX125 Championship throughout the 2025 season, showcasing his potential in international circuits.

Just three days prior to his tragic accident, Badenas shared an emotional birthday message for his father, stating, “I love you.” The Specialised Centre for Motorsport Training (CETDM) expressed profound sadness at the loss, confirming that Badenas “suffered a serious accident on Sunday, December 7 while training privately.”

The CETDM, where he joined in 2023 following his national championship success, highlighted his remarkable progress, noting multiple podium finishes and a significant development in his career. The centre concluded their statement by offering “condolences, love and strength to Enzo’s family, colleagues, friends and loved ones at this difficult time.”

The motocross community has reacted with heartfelt tributes, with one fan reflecting on the tragedy, saying, “The worst news you can hear about a motorcycle rider. Rest in peace. A big hug to his family and friends. He was enjoying his passion and from Heaven he will now take care of all his colleagues.”

In the wake of the incident, the Valencia regional government issued an official statement of condolence, expressing deep sorrow for the loss of Badenas. “We deeply regret the death of the young Valencian motorcycle rider Enzo Badenas at the age of just 17,” they wrote on X.

This painful event serves as a stark reminder of the risks involved in motorsport. As the community grapples with the loss, it underscores both the fleeting nature of potential and the profound connections that form within it.
