Premier League results: Arsenal thrashes Leeds, Bournemouth beats Wolves, Everton draws with Brighton

Premier League round-up: Arsenal, Brighton and Bournemouth land crucial victories

Arsenal secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Leeds United, reaffirming their position as Premier League title favourites after a lacklustre performance against Manchester United the previous week, reports BritPanorama.

At Elland Road, Mikel Arteta’s side displayed dominance, with goals from Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, and Gabriel Jesus. Noni Madueke, stepping in for an injured Bukayo Saka, contributed with an assist and a corner that led to a calamitous own goal from Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow. The win leaves Arsenal seven points clear at the top of the league, putting pressure on second-placed Manchester City, who face Tottenham on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Everton played to a dramatic 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium. Pascal Gross’s first-half goal for Brighton was matched in the dying moments by birthday boy Beto, who scored a stunning equaliser in the 97th minute. The match featured limited chances, with the first half passing without a shot on target, but the late drama highlighted the unpredictability of Premier League football.

Bournemouth also continued their impressive run with a 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux. Junior Kroupi’s remarkable strike opened the scoring, followed by Alex Scott adding a second to confirm victory. Bournemouth’s unbeaten streak now extends to four matches, while Wolves remain in a precarious position, languishing at the bottom of the table with just eight points from 24 matches, effectively staring down relegation.

As the season approaches its climax, these results serve as a stark reminder of the ever-changing landscape of the Premier League, where even the most underperforming teams can erratically shift the balance of power, eliciting both cheers and groans in equal measure across the stands. In football, as always, the only constant is change.
