Munster are set for another trip to France this Saturday as they face off against Bordeaux Begles in Stade Chaban Delmas (3pm, Irish time).

The Top 14’s second placed side overcame Ulster this afternoon, with ex-Munster out-half Joey Carbery slotting four conversions in a 43-31 win.

Munster awaited the winners following their rousing and dramatic one-point victory over La Rochelle yesterday afternoon, with tries from Craig Casey, Gavin Coombes and Andrew Smith heaving them over the line against Ronan O’Gara’s side.

Elsewhere, Leinster will host fellow URC side Glasgow Warriors in the opening quarter-final on Friday night in the Aviva Stadium.

Leo Cullen’s side return to their more regular haunt on Dublin’s southside after demolishing Harlequins 62-0 in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.

Glasgow, who are seeking to become the first Scottish side to reach a Champions Cup final, also dispatched English Premiership opposition in impressive fashion, overcoming Leicester Tigers 43-19 in Scotstoun on Saturday evening.

In the remaining two quarter-finals, past winners Northampton Saints host Castres in Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday, while Sunday sees an all-French clash between competition aristocrats, Toulon and Toulouse.

Toulouse were slow out of the blocks this afternoon but a second half surge saw them ease past Sale Sharks.

The six-times champions, who were already without superstar Antoine Dupont, trailed 15-10 at the break but scored four tries after it to ease to a 38-15 victory which sends them to Toulon next weekend.

Luke James cancelled out Jack Willis’ early try and a George Ford penalty and Jonny Hill’s touchdown, which was converted by Ford, gave the visitors an eight-point lead.

However, second-half tries from Francois Cros, Julien Marchand, Capuozzo – the Italy international was carried from the field on a stretcher after being injured in the act of scoring – and Guillaume Cramont, coupled with 13 points from the boot of full-back Thomas Ramos, saw Toulouse home comfortably.
