Marcus Rashford’s significant financial withdrawals amid Barcelona loan
Marcus Rashford has withdrawn a total of £8.5 million from his business ventures as preparations continue for his anticipated permanent departure from Manchester United this summer, reports BritPanorama.
The England forward, currently on loan at Barcelona, extracted approximately £7.5 million from MUCS Enterprises, the company handling his image rights. Following this substantial withdrawal, the image rights firm retains £12.6 million in assets according to recent filings.
Additionally, Rashford removed close to £1 million in cash from his property venture over the preceding year. MUCS Properties, which oversees the striker’s portfolio of 11 investment properties across Manchester, currently holds assets valued at £8.2 million based on the latest company documentation.
The 28-year-old’s temporary spell with the La Liga club is expected to convert into a permanent arrangement worth £26 million, driven by his impressive performances since arriving at the Nou Camp. He has scored 10 goals from 34 appearances since moving from Manchester United, with four of those coming in La Liga.
His loan arrangement, which began in late July, came after a turbulent period with the Red Devils. Once seen as undroppable, he fell out of favour with former manager Ruben Amorim, who was sacked in July after a critical press conference addressing club leadership.
Rashford’s resurgence in Spain has also caught the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel, placing him back in contention for World Cup selection. His departure from Old Trafford will provide considerable financial relief for United, saving the club approximately £315,000 per week in wages.
While Rashford last featured for United in December 2024, he subsequently lost his number 10 shirt to Matheus Cunha during Amorim’s tenure as manager. Prior to his transfer to Barcelona, he trained separately from the main squad under Amorim’s directive, signalling a shift in his standing at the club.
United are also looking to offload other high earners including Casemiro and Jadon Sancho as part of broader wage restructuring efforts. Meanwhile, the club aims to strengthen its midfield, with several players being linked, including Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Joao Gomes, Adam Wharton, and Ruben Neves.
In the fast-moving world of football, the balance between personal ambition and club allegiance often becomes blurred, reflected poignantly in Rashford’s journey — a reminder that even the brightest stars can find themselves navigating complex transitions amid shifting club dynamics.
