Darts ace Luke Littler reveals motorway chase by photographer
Darts star Luke Littler has disclosed that he was pursued on a motorway by a photographer just days after successfully passing his driving test, reports BritPanorama.
The incident left the world number one feeling “shaking with nerves” as the photographer attempted to capture images of him driving his new BMW. Littler had recently completed his practical test in Warrington, Cheshire, without making a single error, after struggling with his theory examination, having failed six times.
The 18-year-old shared the experience on social media, explaining that his apprehension grew while making numerous U-turns to evade the photographer. He had only been driving for two days when he found himself in that situation on the busy motorway.
“I think I did about three U-turns, he did the same, but I was just shaking with nerves,” Littler said. He made the post about his car to prevent the photographer from selling any photos taken during the chase.
In his comments, he acknowledged the challenges of public celebrity, saying, “I know it’s the job, but following me on the motorway – it’s dead busy.” He explained how although he had purchased the BMW in May, he wanted to keep it under wraps until he passed the test.
“I just wanted to pass as soon as possible. Believe it or not, I bought the car in May. I didn’t buy it yesterday,” he noted, adding that he drove an automatic car to ease his learning experience.
Littler is set to return to the spotlight as he prepares to defend his Grand Slam of Darts title in Wolverhampton next week. In an additional note of interest, he was recently voted the world’s sexiest sportsman by a survey conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, an accolade he expressed surprise at as he was unaware it was even happening.
With pressures of fame and competition continuing to grow, Littler’s journey highlights the challenges many young athletes face, especially when the glare of public attention intensifies. It serves as a vivid reminder of how swiftly the personal and professional lives converge in the realm of sports.
