Liverpool suffers heavy defeat against Nottingham Forest, while Bournemouth salvages draw with West Ham

Premier League round-up: Liverpool’s struggles deepen as Bournemouth and Fulham find form

The 3pm games in the Premier League brought more drama as Liverpool succumbed to a second consecutive 3-0 defeat, this time at home against Nottingham Forest, reports BritPanorama.

The loss continues a troubling trend for Liverpool, who have failed to recover from a recent humbling at the hands of Manchester City. Nottingham Forest capitalised on a VAR-awarded corner, with Murillo scoring to put them ahead in the first half. Although Forest had a second goal disallowed, they quickly compounded Liverpool’s woes after halftime, with Nicolò Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White both finding the net.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth managed to secure a 2-2 draw against West Ham after facing an early setback. Callum Wilson, a former Bournemouth star, scored twice to put West Ham in a commanding position, but the Cherries rallied back with a penalty from Marcus Tavernier and a quick goal from Enes Ünal to level the match. Despite pressing for a winner, Bournemouth could not find it, leaving both teams with mixed feelings about the result.

Brighton secured a vital 2-1 victory against Brentford, despite conceding two penalties. Igor Thiago opened the scoring, and Yankuba Minteh added a second before Brentford were given a last-minute chance to equalise, only for a brilliant save to deny them. Fulham earned a narrow 1-0 win over Sunderland thanks to an 84th-minute goal from Raul Jimenez, marking a crucial win for the beleaguered London side.

Wolves, still in search for momentum under new manager Rob Edwards, faced Crystal Palace and lost 2-0, leaving them struggling at the bottom of the table. As clubs vie for position in a fiercely competitive league, the results this weekend highlight the unpredictable nature of the Premier League and the fine margins that often decide matches.

This weekend’s games served as a reminder that in football, performances can change as quickly as results. For Liverpool, the urgency to reclaim lost form intensifies, while Bournemouth and Fulham will aim to build momentum from their respective results as they navigate the complexities of the season ahead.
