Lewis Hamilton vows to prove doubters wrong ahead of Australian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has delivered a defiant statement as he prepares to embark on his 20th campaign in Formula One, reports BritPanorama.

The seven-time world champion, now 41, declared on social media on Tuesday that he remains “still standing, still hungry, still focused on the dream.” He promised there would be “no holding back” as he approaches Sunday’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Reflecting on the milestone, Hamilton noted, “Twenty seasons as an F1 driver. It’s hard to even grasp the reality of that number.” He emphasised the perseverance required in his career, sharing insights into his journey and the challenges he faced along the way.

Hamilton elaborated, “It started with a dream. A dream some called ridiculous and said would never amount to anything. Despite that, the dream never changed, and I never stopped chasing it. A dream has to be matched with action and, above all, belief. Belief that doesn’t break no matter what’s thrown in your face or what you come up against.”

This season marks a pivotal moment for Hamilton, who arrives in Melbourne with something to prove following a challenging 2025 campaign with Ferrari. Notably, he finished behind teammate Charles Leclerc in both qualifying and points standings throughout the year, a stark contrast to his previous successes. Crucially, the 2025 season was the first in his career that he failed to stand on the podium, leading him to publicly describe himself as “absolutely useless” and suggest that Ferrari consider a replacement driver.

As he prepares for the new season, Hamilton’s pursuit of a record eighth world championship will largely depend on whether Ferrari can provide adequate machinery to mount a serious title challenge. Despite a troubled previous season, there are signs of optimism following substantial changes to the sport’s technical regulations that were evidenced during pre-season testing.

Hamilton is scheduled to address the media at the official FIA press conference on Thursday ahead of the Albert Park race. With renewed hope and confidence, fans will be keen to see how the dynamic unfolds in this latest chapter of his storied career.

In sport, where triumph and despair walk hand in hand, Hamilton’s journey stands testament to the relentless pursuit of greatness, a reminder that for every setback, belief in oneself must reign strong. The upcoming season promises to reveal the indomitable spirit of a driver who refuses to yield.
