Lando Norris celebrates F1 championship with extravagant party
Lando Norris has racked up a £100,000 bar bill while celebrating his recent Formula One championship victory with his girlfriend, family, and McLaren team members, reports BritPanorama.
The new World Champion secured the title in a nail-biting finale to the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he finished third, narrowly ahead of Max Verstappen. The celebrations took place at the Amber Lounge inside the W Hotel following his initial revelries at the Pearls & Caviar bar in the Shangri-La Hotel, which concluded shortly after he arrived.
Sources reported that Norris’ family and friends began the festivities around 9 pm, but he joined them at 1 am after fulfilling numerous media obligations. With the first venue closing, his team arranged transport for the group to the Amber Lounge where they resumed celebrations.
Attendees at the second venue noted the vibrant atmosphere as Norris and his entourage arrived. “People in there were stunned when Lando and his entourage bowled in but they were the life and soul of the party,” a source stated.
The feting continued until the early morning hours, with participants enjoying the upbeat mood. “Some of them didn’t finish up until 6am yesterday, including his mum and dad,” the source added. “It’s a night none of them will ever forget – especially for whoever ended up paying the tab – it was around £100,000 towards the end of the party.”
Norris, dressed in a white shirt, arrived hand in hand with his girlfriend, Magui Corceiro, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc reportedly joining the celebration later. The Bristol-born racer navigated a thrilling final race, fending off challenges from both Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri, making him the 11th British driver to claim motorsport’s ultimate prize and the first since Lewis Hamilton in 2020.
The emotional weight of Norris’ achievement became evident as he crossed the finish line, breaking down in tears over the team radio. He expressed his gratitude to the McLaren crew, stating, “You made my dreams come true, thank you so much. I love you guys, for everything. You deserve it. I love you mum, I love you dad. Thanks for everything. And now I’m crying!”
In the grand theatre of sports, such moments are penned into the annals of history — a reminder of both the dazzling heights of success and the shared joy that carries us through the night.
