Eliska Babickova confirms split from Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli
Eliska Babickova has confirmed her relationship with Mercedes Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli is over, taking to Instagram to address what she described as “false, disgusting narratives” spreading across the internet, reports BritPanorama.
Babickova, a Czech karting professional with 170,000 followers on the platform, revealed she ended the relationship with the 19-year-old Italian racer. The announcement comes after weeks of speculation regarding their relationship, which Babickova indicated had been misrepresented online, prompting her to publicly clarify the situation.
The couple began dating in October 2023, with Babickova making her first appearance in the Formula 1 paddock at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix the following year. She grew accustomed to being in the spotlight alongside Antonelli during race weekends.
However, signs of trouble started to surface in late January, when Babickova posted a message to her followers, apologising for her absence from social media. “Sorry guys, I’ve been super inactive lately,” she wrote. “January was a tough month for me, and I wanted to focus on figuring some of my personal things out.”
In February, the pair attempted to address their issues, ultimately leading to their separation. Babickova explained that the split was recent and noted that throughout February, they had been “trying to figure stuff out” without clarity on their relationship’s status.
“Yes, we did break up. I was the one to end the relationship because I felt that we no longer aligned in our personal lives and in what we wanted for our future,” she stated. Babickova highlighted that their values had diverged significantly, contributing to the decision.
She emphasized that there was “no massive drama” involved and dismissed sensationalised accounts as “super misrepresentative” of their time together. Notably, she clarified that “other people were never the problem,” despite their challenges.
The confirmation of their split coincides with a pivotal moment in Antonelli’s career, as the season-opening practice session in Melbourne is set for 6 March. As he heads into what could be a defining season, Antonelli will be focused on racing rather than personal matters.
Mercedes has displayed impressive speed during pre-season testing, positioning Antonelli as one of the contenders heading into the new championship. The 19-year-old will aim to concentrate solely on the track, with expectations high for a potential breakout year in the sport’s evolving landscape.
As the competitive nature of Formula 1 looms, Babickova’s reflections serve as a reminder of how personal lives often intertwine with the intense pressure of professional sport.
