Joey Barton arrested after alleged fight at golf club
Joey Barton has been arrested following an alleged fight at a golf club near Huyton and Prescot Golf Club in Merseyside, reports BritPanorama.
The incident drew the attention of emergency services, who were called on Sunday night after reports of an assault. One individual was subsequently taken to hospital for assessment of injuries to his face and ribs, as confirmed by police.
According to a statement from Merseyside Police, two men, aged 50 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of s18 wounding. Both individuals are currently in custody and will be questioned by detectives as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the altercation.

During a recent High Court hearing related to a libel claim involving Barton, legal representative Gervase de Wilde informed the court that Barton “was arrested yesterday and is currently being held in custody.” Known for his time at Manchester City and QPR, Barton has also managed Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers.
