Jermaine Jenas lists North London home for £4.95 million

Jermaine Jenas has placed his six-bedroom family residence near Barnet, North London, on the market with an asking price of £4.95 million, approximately 18 months following his dismissal from the BBC, reports BritPanorama.

The former England international, now 43, originally acquired the property for £2.8 million back in 2006. Estate agency photographs reveal the substantial home boasts an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room facilities, along with a private gymnasium, dedicated cinema room and children’s playroom.

Jenas shared the residence with his wife Ellie, 37, and their children before their relationship collapsed following his high-profile departure from the broadcaster in August 2024. Jenas has since registered his newly established company, Coldline Ltd, at a £3 million terraced property in Hampstead, though he is not thought to reside there.

The broadcaster terminated Jenas’s employment after he was found to have sent inappropriate text messages to two female colleagues working on The One Show. This dismissal cost him an annual salary understood to be worth £190,000, encompassing his roles on both The One Show and Match of the Day. At the time, he acknowledged sending suggestive messages and expressed remorse to the recipients.

Following his dismissal, Jenas stated, “I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry.” He maintained that he had committed no illegal acts and that the exchanges were between consenting adults. However, he faced additional allegations the following month, including claims he had “repeatedly pestered” a junior make-up artist for sex whilst employed at BT Sport.

His wife was described as “absolutely raging” upon learning the truth and promptly expelled him from their bedroom. “I just said, ‘I’ve been sacked from the BBC’. She said, ‘What for?’ and I said, ‘For sending text messages that weren’t appropriate to two girls,'” he recalled of the moment he told her. Despite efforts to reconcile, their marriage ended, and in March 2025, Ellie confirmed their separation via Instagram after 16 years together.

The announcement detailed, “After 16 years together and 4 wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. We will remain friends and continue to co-parent.” Jenas has since attempted to reconstruct his career, establishing his own production company. He reflected on the ordeal, stating, “It’s been a really difficult moment for myself and my family what happened. I have always held up my hand and taken full responsibility for it, that’s very important to do.” He also acknowledged that his entire television career had been “wiped out” by the dismissal.

As the fallout from the scandal continues to evolve, Jenas navigates this new chapter in his life, balancing family responsibilities with personal and professional recovery. It remains to be seen how his foray into production will unfold, yet his story serves as an indelible reminder of the fragility of public life and personal ambitions. The football world often thrives on seismic personality shifts, and Jenas embodies the unpredictability of such narratives in the ever-intersecting realms of sport and media.
