Jamie O’Hara storms out of radio show after Spurs’ defeat

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara stormed out of his radio programme on Thursday evening after relentless mockery from his co-presenter following Spurs’ humiliating home loss to Crystal Palace, reports BritPanorama.

The 3-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has deepened the club’s struggles, leaving them perilously close to the relegation zone, just a single point above the drop with nine fixtures remaining.

While many supporters were able to retreat into private anguish, O’Hara faced the cameras and had to discuss the team’s dismal performance live on air. Chelsea fan Jason Cundy seized the opportunity to needle his colleague throughout the talkSPORT broadcast.

Cundy appeared on set wearing a mask of former Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, clearly intent on provoking O’Hara further. He then advocated for new manager Igor Tudor, suggesting he warranted more time to implement his plans following a rocky start.

In response, O’Hara said, “I know you’re laughing and joking mate but seriously…” before directly questioning Cundy’s belief in Tudor’s potential to save the club. Cundy’s optimistic remarks, asserting he had “seen signs” of improvement, proved to be the final straw for O’Hara, who deemed it “pointless” to continue the show and labeled his co-host an “idiot” before walking off set.

His exit was quickly commented on by fellow talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, who shared a viral clip of O’Hara’s past on an American dating show, setting a humorous tone on social media.

The ridicule towards O’Hara extended beyond the radio show, as rival fans and bookmakers gleefully joined in. Bookmaker Paddy Power commented on a past tweet from Spurs that had promoted signing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, stating it had “aged like milk in a sauna.”

Championship-themed jabs circulated online, while footage captured despondent supporters at the stadium, including one fan responding to the cameras by raising his middle finger after most had already exited. This stark reaction highlighted the growing disillusionment among the Tottenham faithful.

With relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and West Ham gaining points this week, Spurs boss Igor Tudor finds himself under increasing pressure, having presided over just three games since taking charge.

This season’s narrative underscores the precarious nature of top-flight football, where a club’s fortunes can turn drastically with each passing match.
