Chicago Bulls waive Jaden Ivey after comments on Pride Month

Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey was “waived” following his outspoken criticism of the NBA’s promotion of Pride Month, which he described as celebrating “unrighteousness.” His remarks were shared during an Instagram live stream where he challenged the league’s values.
“The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world,” Ivey stated. He further added, “They say: ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness.”
On Monday night, ESPN reported that he had been released prior to the Bulls’ game in San Antonio due to “conduct detrimental to the team.” Coach Billy Donovan noted that despite hopes for Ivey’s long-term integration within the squad, his future had become uncertain.
Ivey, 24, had failed to secure a contract extension with the Detroit Pistons last summer, leaving him as a free agent as the NBA off-season approaches. Previously, he had expressed concern about his performance, indicating a transformation in his identity linked to his faith. “I’m not the JI I used to be.
