Igor Tudor charged with misconduct after referee comments
Igor Tudor has been charged with misconduct after branding referee Thomas Bramall biased during Tottenham’s loss at Fulham, reports BritPanorama.
The Spurs boss has been found by the FA as having “allegedly acted in an improper manner during a post-match interview by making comments that imply bias and/or question integrity and/or are personally offensive in relation to a match official”.
The comments came after a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage on March 1 during the north London side’s struggles in the Premier League. The visitors believed that Harry Wilson’s opener should have been ruled out due to a foul on Radu Dragusin in the build-up.
Following the final whistle, the Croatian told the BBC: “I didn’t like the referee today, too much of a home team referee. I didn’t feel well with him. All the decisions were on their side. He doesn’t understand football, the feeling of what is wrong and what is right.”
Tudor has until Monday, March 23, to respond to the charges. He now risks facing a ban ahead of crucial fixtures for Spurs as they fight to remain in the Premier League.
As the pressure mounts in the closing weeks of the season, Tudor’s comments may come back to haunt him, reflecting the fine line managers walk between candid assessments and disciplinary repercussions. In the cutthroat arena of top-flight football, it’s a reminder that even amidst the heat of competition, accountability to officials remains paramount.
