Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding shrouded in family controversy
Security personnel accompanied by dogs were observed patrolling the grounds of Kin House this morning, the Wiltshire Georgian manor selected as the venue for Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding reception, reports BritPanorama.
The heightened security presence comes as the Olympic swimmer’s nuptials to the celebrity chef’s daughter have become mired in a deeply divisive family dispute. The celebrations at the historic property are taking place against turmoil that has fractured the Peaty family.
Wedding preparations continued at the manor despite the controversy surrounding the event, which has captivated public attention in recent weeks. The couple’s decision to exclude Peaty’s parents from the guest list has cast a shadow over what should be a joyous occasion.
The 30-year-old swimmer arrived at Bath Abbey wearing a smart black suit, his young son’s hand clasped in his own. Earlier in the day, Peaty had shared a serene image on social media of a swimming pool set against a countryside sunrise, captioned “Morning of our wedding.”
Guests began assembling at Bath House ahead of the service, while spectators gathered behind blue ropes erected outside the ancient abbey. Rose flower arrangements were being given final touches, with onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of what has been dubbed the wedding of the year.
Some 120 miles away in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, the swimmer’s mother Caroline and father Mark remained at home, described as “heartbroken” after reportedly being barred from attending their son’s wedding. Caroline had initially vowed to be present, stating: “I will be there, and I will watch from the street.” However, she later abandoned this plan, explaining that it “would be too sad” and she “didn’t want to spoil his big day.”
Her husband Mark had persuaded her that attending would prove “too upsetting.” The family home where they now sit excluded is the same property from which Caroline once drove her son to countless training sessions and competitions throughout his youth. Notably, David and Victoria Beckham are expected among the guests at the ceremony, given their close friendship with the Ramsay family.
Meanwhile, their eldest son Brooklyn has declined to attend due to his own ongoing family rift. This wedding comes six weeks after a public family bust-up erupted following Holly’s hen party, from which Caroline was notably absent.
Images from the gathering shared on social media depicted the bride-to-be surrounded by family and friends, including Victoria Beckham and Adam’s sister Bethany. At the same time, Caroline has remained at home care for Adam’s five-year-old son George from his previous relationship as the celebrations unfolded without her.
