Gary Neville frustrated by social media influencers invading his property
Gary Neville has reportedly become increasingly frustrated with social media influencers who repeatedly use his Georgian front door as a backdrop for photos, reports BritPanorama.
The Manchester street, known as millionaires’ row, offers a glamorous setting for the influencers’ content, with many seemingly oblivious to the identity of the property owner. The 50-year-old football pundit finds himself regularly confronted by content creators scaling his steps and even perching on window ledges in pursuit of the perfect shot.
Among those who have visited the location for photoshoots are Love Island personalities, including Molly Mae Hague and Tom Clare. Influencers can be seen taking photos on doorsteps daily, with little regard for the fact that they are using Neville’s home as their scenic setting.
A source noted that the disruption extends beyond Neville’s doorstep, adversely affecting street traffic due to the constant stream of content creators. “Cars are often held up, too, as influencers pose in the middle of the road,” the source added. Neville acquired four townhouses on the street in 2021, occupying one himself while letting out the remaining properties for approximately £20,000 per month.
This situation highlights the increasingly blurred lines between public and private spaces in the age of social media, where personal residences become incidental backdrops for public personas. For Neville, a figure of significant stature both as a football pundit and property owner, the daily challenges of navigating this crossover form a unique dilemma in a changing digital landscape.
