Fire breaks out at Exeter City stadium

A fire has broken out at Exeter City stadium with firefighters rushing to tackle the late-night blaze, reports BritPanorama.

Shocking footage showed emergency services tackling the flames at St James Park. The inferno first started at the grounds of Exeter City FC at around 11pm; however, the cause of the fire remains unclear.

Videos posted online appear to show the fire engulfing the back of the Adam Stansfield stand, and it is thought the blaze may have originated from either temporary cabins or bins. At this stage, the seriousness of the fire has yet to be assessed.

St James Park currently has a capacity of 8,720, with the Adam Stansfield stand holding a maximum of 1,599 people. As the situation develops, further updates are anticipated.

For a club that thrives on community spirit, seeing flames in the stands rather than cheers from the fans serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly the unexpected can unfold at sporting venues.
