Lamine Yamal’s father announces engagement amid scrutiny
Mounir Nasraoui, father of Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, has announced his engagement to 23-year-old Khristina, a relationship that has sparked notable attention due to the pair’s twelve-year age difference. Nasraoui, aged 35, shared the news via social media this week, reports BritPanorama.
The revelation has drawn considerable scrutiny given that Khristina is only five years older than the 18-year-old football star. Many online reactions have highlighted this age gap, with some questioning the dynamics of their relationship.
Despite the criticism, the couple appears determined to move forward with their wedding plans. Their relationship has faced challenges since being made public, particularly with the recent separation of Lamine Yamal from his former partner, 25-year-old Argentine singer Nicki Nicole.
According to Spanish journalist Javier de Hoyos, Yamal confirmed the breakup via a televised statement, emphasizing that there was no infidelity involved. “He says they’re not together anymore and it hasn’t been because of any infidelity. We’ve simply separated and that’s it,” de Hoyos quoted Yamal as saying.
Prior to the engagement announcement, Mounir Nasraoui experienced a violent incident in August, surviving a stabbing attack linked to a dispute while walking his dog in Mataro, near Barcelona. Three individuals were arrested on charges of attempted murder following the assault.
Throughout his son’s burgeoning career, Nasraoui has been a supportive figure, attending key events such as Spain’s European Championship victory. His engagement comes as a nuanced reminder of the complexities surrounding public life and personal choices in the spotlight of fame.
