England unveils new World Cup kits for 2025

England have today revealed their new home and away strips for this summer’s World Cup in North America, with Nike delivering a fresh take on the traditional Three Lions look, reports BritPanorama.

The home shirt features an updated interpretation of the iconic white design, which now includes a navy collar and sleeves. A subtle pattern decorates the fabric of the authentic version, while the controversial purple element from the previous St George’s flag has been removed.

Significantly, the phrase “Happy and Glorious” is printed inside the collar, paying tribute to the national anthem ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s first major tournament as England manager.

The away strip restores a more traditional aesthetic, presenting a red shirt paired with navy shorts and a centrally positioned Three Lions badge, distinguishing it from the home kit and evoking classic England designs of the past.

Jordan Pickford’s new goalkeeper kit will feature a blue patterned shirt as part of the refreshed collection. Both kits will incorporate Nike’s new Aero-Fit technology, which replaces the previous Dri-Fit ADV system, touted as the pinnacle of cooling technology for elite performance.

The launch was accompanied by a promotional video directed by Keane Pearce Shaw and narrated by The Streets frontman Mike Skinner, showcasing stars like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Marcus Rashford. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson also models the away strip alongside Rashford.

This promotional footage pays homage to England’s sole World Cup triumph, featuring the name of Sir Bobby Moore on a Hollywood Walk of Fame star next to Kane’s, 60 years on from that famous victory. References to the tournament’s North American hosts are interspersed throughout the presentation.

Fan reception has been largely positive, with many expressing their approval on social media. Comments such as “That is absolutely class!” and “Big fan of both of them” reflect the enthusiastic reaction to the new designs.

Both the home and away strips will be available for purchase starting Monday, March 23, on the England Store and Nike’s online platforms. Pricing details remain unconfirmed.

As the countdown to the World Cup unfolds, the hope is that these kits not only embody tradition but also inspire a sense of pride and ambition as England embarks on its journey through the tournament.
