David Moyes expresses disappointment with Jack Grealish’s red card

David Moyes has voiced his disappointment with Jack Grealish following the midfielder’s sending off during Everton’s 1-1 draw with Wolves, reports BritPanorama.

The 30-year-old was shown two yellow cards for dissent in the dying moments of the match as the Toffees held on for a point against the Premier League’s basement side. Grealish’s dismissal occurred after Michael Keane was already sent off for violent conduct, leaving Everton with just nine players for nine minutes of added time.

Moyes confirmed he addressed the incident with Grealish immediately after the game but declined to disclose specifics of their conversation. “I already have,” he stated when asked if he would need to address the matter with Grealish again.

The situation escalated following Mateus Mane’s equaliser in the 69th minute, which had previously seen Everton looking comfortable with their lead. Moyes expressed his frustration over the officiating, particularly concerning Keane’s dismissal for pulling Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare’s hair, stating, “It was not violent, it is not forceful, and it is not deliberate.”

“It can’t be violent conduct for that,” he added, emphasizing the inconsistency in refereeing decisions throughout the match. Both Grealish and Keane will miss Everton’s upcoming FA Cup fixture against Sunderland this weekend, a significant blow for the squad.

Wolves manager Rob Edwards welcomed the point gained from the draw, encouraging his players to maintain their spirited performances as they fight to stay above the relegation zone. As both teams prepare for their next matches, Everton will aim to regroup from the chaotic end to their match against Wolves.

These incidents serve as a reminder of how quickly a match can turn and the fine margins that often dictate the outcomes in the Premier League.
