United’s strategic approach focused on leveraging their strengths. Carrick highlighted the contributions of players such as Amad and Dorgu, both of whom excelled throughout the match. “We wanted to play to our strengths. The two wide lads, Amad and Dorgu, were fantastic both ways,” he remarked.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Carrick noted the players’ eagerness to deliver a sense of success to the fans. “I had a real sense in the last few days how desperate the players were to give that feeling of success to the fans,” he added. Carrick also acknowledged his pride in the players’ ability to manage the emotional weight of the game effectively.
