Metropolitan Police Investigate Prince Andrew’s Alleged Inquiry into Accuser’s Details
London’s Metropolitan Police is “actively looking into” media reports claiming that Prince Andrew sought personal information about his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, from his taxpayer-funded bodyguard, reports BritPanorama.
The police force confirmed it is investigating the allegations following reports by the Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Telegraph.
“We are aware of media reporting and are actively looking into the claims made,” a police spokesperson stated.
The Mail alleged that Andrew sent an email to Queen Elizabeth’s deputy press secretary, detailing that he provided his Met Police personal protection officer with Giuffre’s date of birth and social security number in order to investigate her.
However, there is no indication that the protection officer acted upon Andrew’s request.
Andrew has not publicly commented but has consistently denied the allegations against him.
In 2022, he reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre after she filed a civil suit against him in New York. While he did not admit to any wrongdoing, Andrew acknowledged Giuffre’s suffering as a victim of sex trafficking.
This latest scrutiny came to light after emails surfaced last week, demonstrating that Andrew maintained contact with Jeffrey Epstein for longer than previously acknowledged.
