Former FBI director Robert Mueller dies at 81
Former FBI Director Robert Mueller has died at the age of 81, as President Trump remarked, “I’m glad he’s dead,” in a blunt message, reports BritPanorama.
Mueller, who led the bureau from 2001 to 2013, passed away on Friday night. His death was confirmed by his family on Saturday, who expressed their deep sadness and requested privacy during this time.
In a swift response following the announcement, President Trump took to Truth Social to express his controversial view on Mueller’s passing. “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” he posted.
As special counsel, Mueller’s most notable work was investigating the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, a probe that lingered over Trump’s first term. He is also remembered for significantly reforming the FBI post-9/11, transforming it into a more effective counter-terrorism agency.
Mueller’s tenure included service under presidents from both major political parties, having been nominated to lead the FBI by President George W. Bush.
