Dominic Cummings has stated that Nigel Farage is positioned to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, provided he assembles an effective team. The former chief adviser to Boris Johnson described Farage as a “one-man band” and indicated his support for the Reform UK leader’s political ambitions, reports BritPanorama.
Cummings emphasized that to secure the keys to Number 10, Farage must attract “talented people” to his campaign. He criticized current Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, labeling him as “rubbish at politics,” and suggested he would consider voting for Farage if the latter successfully builds a competent team.
In an interview with The Times, Cummings reiterated his support for Farage’s views on Brexit and immigration, arguing that the former leader has demonstrated insight into critical issues facing the nation. He pointed out, “He’s the first major figure in Westminster who said we are going down a strategic disaster with this.”
Cummings suggested that if Farage can establish a strong team ahead of the upcoming local elections, he would likely emerge as the frontrunner for the premiership. Earlier this year, Cummings was reported to be collaborating with billionaire Elon Musk to strategically target Starmer online, with plans for social media engagement communicated through WhatsApp.
Moreover, Cummings has been rumored to be exploring the creation of a new political party designed to challenge the Conservative Party. He expressed intentions to attract donors for this venture, aiming for a launch by Christmas. In a series of blog posts, he stated it was “time to build up to replace the rotten Tories and win,” suggesting that failures of the Labour Party could provide an opportunity for his proposed Startup Party to gain traction ahead of the 2028 elections.
