Clinton expresses frustration and slams table during contentious deposition over Epstein ties

A furious Hillary Clinton expressed her anger towards Republicans and slammed her fist on the table during a deposition regarding Jeffrey Epstein, as video footage of her testimony reveals, reports BritPanorama.

Initially resistant to appear before the House Oversight Committee, Clinton ultimately testified alongside her husband, former President Bill Clinton, about their connections to the deceased sex offender. The deposition took place under the threat of contempt of Congress.

Approximately an hour into the session, a lawyer for Clinton intervened after a photo of her was leaked from within the room. She questioned whether the release of such images was permissible, especially since they had requested a public hearing. “Excuse me, can I interrupt? There are photos being released of the secretary as she’s testifying from inside this room,” her attorney stated.

Moments after this interruption, Clinton lost her composure, exclaiming, “I’m done with this!” She emphasized that the breach of rules was typical behavior, stating, “If you guys are doing that I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home.”

A lawmaker in attendance acknowledged that they had shared the photo prior to the hearing beginning, leading Clinton to respond dismissively, “Oh for heaven’s sake.” Following her outburst, she banged her fist on the table, reinforcing her argument that all parties involved should adhere to the same rules.

When the lawmaker indicated they’d delete the photo from social media, Clinton retorted, “Yeah, well, yeah, I’m done for now,” before standing, closing her binder, and bringing the hearing off the record.

The blurry image that surfaced online was disseminated by conservative influencer Benny Johnson, who indicated he received it from Representative Lauren Boebert, a Republican present during the deposition. Such actions violate the rules restricting photography within closed congressional depositions.

Clinton & Mace clash

A contentious exchange occurred between Clinton and Representative Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, when Mace interrupted Clinton as she responded to a question regarding Howard Lutnick, then-Secretary of Commerce under Donald Trump. Clinton rebuked Mace for her interruption, saying, “You asked the questions! I’m going to answer your question.”

Clinton elaborated on her association with Lutnick during the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, asserting, “This was what I spent my time doing. I was taking care of the people who lost 3,000 lives.” In turn, Mace asserted her standing as a survivor aiming to advocate for others.

Although Mace yielded her time, Clinton insisted on completing her response, expressing sympathy for Mace and acknowledging the tragic loss of life from the Cantor Fitzgerald firm, which suffered heavy casualties during the attacks.

Throughout the deposition, Clinton maintained that she had no connections to Epstein: “I never met Jeffrey Epstein, never had any connection or communication with him.” After the testimony, she addressed reporters outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in New York, condemning Boebert for leaking the photo.

Clinton noted that the deposition took an unusual turn at the end when inquiries about UFOs and the Pizzagate conspiracy theory surfaced. She described the latter as “vile,” criticizing it as a baseless theory that has circulated online.

The deposition has not only raised concerns about procedural breaches but also highlighted the ongoing scrutiny of public figures involved in controversial matters, emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency in political discourse.
