The search is under way for the winning ticketholder of last night’s EuroMillions, which is worth €250 million.
The winning ticket was sold in Ireland, but so far it is not known where or when the ticket was sold.
The National Lottery is advising EuroMillions players to check their tickets carefully this morning and, if they are the winner of the jackpot, to sign the back of it and keep it somewhere safe.
Little is known about where or when the ticket was bought – it may have been purchased by a syndicate or a single player – but one thing is clear, the winning ticket was sold in Ireland and €250m will not be shared with players in other countries.
It is the highest possible amount that can be won on the EuroMillions – which is capped at €250 million – and eclipses the €175m win by the Naul Family syndicate in Dublin in 2019.
The National Lottery said it is ready to guide the winner through the process once they are ready to come forward.
The winning numbers are 13, 22, 23, 44, 49 – Lucky Stars 3 and 5.
Dolores McNamara was Ireland’s first EuroMillions winner, collecting more than €115m in July 2005.
In June 2013, a Dublin player picked up more than €93m in a share of a jackpot worth over €187m, while in July 2020 an online player won €49.5m with a €2.50 ticket.
