Interpipe strengthens its partnership with Europe amid industrial recovery

Ukraine’s Interpipe has increased its pipe sales by 14.4% in the first half of 2025, confirming the resilience of the country’s steel industry and the growing interdependence between Ukraine and the European Union, according to Ukraine Business News. Out of a total of 302,000 tons of products shipped, 110,000 tons went to EU member states, including Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Italy. European companies are increasingly relying on Ukrainian pipes for geothermal drilling, hydrogen infrastructure, and nuclear power modernization—key areas in the bloc’s green transition.

This collaboration provides mutual benefits: Europe gains a dependable industrial partner for its clean energy agenda, while Ukraine secures a stable position in European supply chains. The cooperation also reduces the EU’s reliance on Russian raw materials and Asian imports, strengthening what Kyiv officials call Europe’s “industrial shield.” Interpipe’s growth has become a tangible symbol of Ukraine’s role in rebuilding a greener and more self-sufficient Europe.

Growth despite war and pressure from Moscow

Moscow’s attempts to undermine confidence in Ukraine’s industrial reliability have intensified as Kyiv deepens its ties with Europe. Russian messaging seeks to portray Ukraine’s production as unstable due to the ongoing war. However, Interpipe’s results directly contradict these narratives: despite a 17.8% decline in steel output, the company managed to boost pipe production by 7.7%, increasing exports to the EU. This adaptability has positioned Interpipe as one of Ukraine’s leading examples of industrial resilience under wartime conditions.

European projects using Ukrainian steel—ranging from hydrogen storage facilities in Germany to energy-efficiency networks in Italy—illustrate that cooperation is driven by performance, not political declarations. Each shipment of Ukrainian pipes demonstrates that the partnership between Ukraine and the EU is grounded in shared capabilities and long-term trust.

A new model of industrial security

Interpipe’s expansion underscores how Ukraine’s manufacturing sector contributes not only to Europe’s economy but also to its strategic security. The company’s products are now integral to the EU’s energy independence and decarbonization goals, forming part of a wider industrial ecosystem that strengthens the continent’s autonomy from Russian influence. European partners benefit from a reliable, adaptable supplier that aligns with EU technological and environmental standards.

For Ukraine, participation in these production chains represents more than export data—it reflects confidence built through joint investment and mutual benefit. This evolving partnership helps redefine Ukraine’s image abroad: no longer seen merely as a nation under siege, it is emerging as a co-creator of Europe’s green and secure future. Every ton of metal shipped from Dnipro to the Rhine reinforces that shared industrial base—an alloy of trust, energy, and strategic stability.
