Ukraine’s information technology services exports grew to $6.66 billion in 2025, marking a 3.3% increase with the United Kingdom, Malta and Cyprus emerging as significant beneficiaries of the country’s specialist digital capabilities.

British market demonstrates strong demand

The United Kingdom accounted for approximately $556.7 million of Ukraine’s IT services exports last year, positioning itself as a key European market for Ukrainian digital solutions. This substantial figure reflects the integration of Ukrainian technical teams into British corporate projects, where remote developers and specialised services are increasingly sought after. British enterprises are leveraging this access to accelerate their own technological innovation cycles and digital transformation initiatives without incurring substantial internal research and development costs.

European financial hubs lead import rankings

Malta imported $578 million worth of Ukrainian IT services in 2025, while Cyprus accounted for $480 million, indicating strong demand from European fintech platforms and startup ecosystems. Other notable European importers included Switzerland, Germany, Estonia and Poland, all featuring within the top ten partner nations. This geographical spread underscores a broad European reliance on Ukrainian technical talent for critical digital projects, from software development and cloud solutions to advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence applications.

Strategic advantages for importing economies

European Union member states and Britain gain competitive advantages through flexible access to a highly skilled workforce at competitive rates, recent data indicates. This outsourcing model allows companies to implement innovative products and accelerate digital transformation agendas while controlling expenditure. The collaboration frequently extends beyond simple contracting, with Ukrainian IT firms becoming long-term partners or subcontractors on large-scale European technological initiatives, fostering sustained business relationships and knowledge transfer.

Sector resilience underpins continued growth

The sustained expansion of Ukraine’s IT exports highlights the sector’s resilience and its capacity to compete internationally despite ongoing challenges. For Ukraine, this revenue stream provides crucial economic stability and supports deeper integration with European digital economies. For importing nations, the arrangement delivers tangible benefits in technological modernisation and global digital competitiveness, creating a mutually reinforcing economic dynamic that strengthens regional tech ecosystems.
