Catherine Faiers appointed as new chief executive of Moonpig
Catherine Faiers is set to become the new chief executive of online cards and gifts firm Moonpig, reports BritPanorama.
Ms Faiers is currently chief operating officer at Manchester-based Auto Trader. Moonpig has not yet confirmed when she will take her new role.
This development follows the June announcement that Nickyl Raithatha would be stepping down from his position as Moonpig CEO after a seven-year tenure. At that time, the company stated that Raithatha would continue to lead until a suitable replacement was found.
In its recent financial updates, Moonpig reported a promising start to its fiscal year, registering a 10% increase in revenues, driven by a rise in customers utilizing its AI services. The London group also has an office in Manchester and a logistics hub in Tamworth.
Ms Faiers expressed enthusiasm about joining Moonpig, stating: “I’m excited to be joining Moonpig Group, a business with a clear purpose, a strong platform and an exciting future.” She added that the group has transformed the way people connect and celebrate through technology and creativity and looks forward to working with the team to drive innovation and deliver sustainable value.
Kate Swann, non-executive chairwoman of Moonpig, noted that Ms Faiers brings a wealth of experience in e-commerce with a proven track record in customer-focused digital transformations. “I’m delighted to welcome her to the board and look forward to working closely with her,” Swann stated.
Meanwhile, Auto Trader has assured a “smooth and orderly transition” following the announcement of Ms Faiers’ departure. Chief executive Nathan Coe remarked: “We are grateful for Catherine’s contribution to Auto Trader over the past eight years,” highlighting her commitment and instrumental role in many changes within the business.
The appointment of a seasoned leader like Catherine Faiers reflects Moonpig’s ambition to strengthen its position in the competitive online retail space. As it embraces technological innovation, the company’s focus on customer engagement will likely shape its future strategies and growth trajectory.
