Nigel Farage vows to make Britain a “normal country” again amid migrant crisis

Nigel Farage has vowed to make Britain a “normal country” again as he threatened to impose tariffs and flight bans on countries that do not accept the return of illegal migrants, reports BritPanorama.

The leader of Reform UK stated that the country has been “invaded,” referring to the influx of approximately 200,000 individuals entering Britain since 2020.

Farage announced plans to abolish the current asylum backlog and deport around 90,000 people who are still awaiting decisions on their appeals. He asserted that his proposal was “nothing radical or crazy” but a necessary strategy for ensuring the security of Britain’s borders.

During a press conference held in front of a replica small boat, he articulated his views on the migration issue. “Can we please stop calling this a small boats crisis? It is not a small boats crisis,” he argued, referring to a recent incident involving a vessel that carried 230 individuals across the English Channel.

Farage expressed criticism towards the financial aid provided to France, indicating that such measures would not resolve the core issues at hand. He also issued a stark warning to Pakistan, stating that if the nation fails to accept back its nationals who have committed crimes, a range of sanctions and escalations would be enacted, including potential visa bans and the freezing of assets belonging to Pakistani nationals in London.

He emphasized the urgency of addressing such matters, highlighting prior comments he made six years ago, when he first described the situation as an “invasion.” Farage concluded by identifying additional countries, such as Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan, and Syria, as potential targets for similar measures should they not comply with returning nationals on UK soil.

The developments reflect ongoing concerns over immigration policy and national security, as Farage seeks to position his party as the solution to Britain’s migration challenges.

In a landscape increasingly dominated by discussions of border control and legal compliance, Farage’s hardline stance may resonate with voters prioritizing national security. The implications for international relations and immigration law could be significant as the political discourse evolves.
