Jude Bellingham inspires England to World Cup victory over Panama

Jude Bellingham has revealed the simple half-time message that inspired England to beat Panama 2-0, securing their place in the World Cup knockout stages as group winners, reports BritPanorama.

England struggled in the first half, controlling possession yet failing to penetrate a disciplined Panama defense, which left the teams deadlocked at 0-0 at the interval. Manager Thomas Tuchel appeared animated on the touchline, illustrating his frustration with the performance.

However, the Three Lions emerged revitalized after the break. Bellingham broke the deadlock with a clever finish from a corner in the 62nd minute, before assisting Harry Kane five minutes later, who headed home England’s second goal and became the nation’s leading scorer at World Cup finals.

In the aftermath, Bellingham conveyed that there was a calm atmosphere in the dressing room during the break, emphasizing the players’ confidence in their potential to elevate their game. “[At half time we said] you’re doing well, keep going,” Bellingham stated. “Another gear, nothing crazy. We knew what level we were at and what level we want to achieve and we did it in the second half.”

The victory confirmed England’s position at the top of their group, setting up a Round of 32 match against DR Congo. Bellingham noted that the squad is focused on taking it one game at a time. “First job achieved,” he stated. “We came here to do it in sections. We got through the pre-camp games really well and now we have achieved that first objective, which was to get through the group and top it as well.”

With Bellingham’s goal marking his second of the tournament, he expressed he took more pride in assisting Kane. “The assist [pleased me most],” he remarked. It was clear even Kane acknowledged Bellingham’s impact, praising him as one of England’s driving forces and highlighting the synergy evident in their play.

“Another top performance [from Bellingham],” Kane said, reaffirming his appreciation for the midfielder’s contributions both offensively and defensively. “It’s fantastic to play with him. The cross he put in for my goal just shows his quality.” The interplay between these two players could prove pivotal as England progresses in the tournament.

As England prepares for their next challenge, the signs are promising. There is still much for them to prove, but Bellingham’s blend of skill and leadership continues to shine bright on the world stage.
